Town or City: Ryhope
Areas covered: Village of Ryhope, the Cycle Track and Lane to the Beach
Ryhope is a village within the borough of Sunderland, on the south side. It has an attractive Green with a view out to the North Sea. The old railway line towards Murton has been converted into a cycle track which connects up with rest of the network across the country. There is a lane down to the beach.
We tidy up the in the Village, the Cycle Track and the lane to the beach.
We meet by the War Memorial on the Village Green, which is beside the main Stockton/Ryhope road [B1522] running northwards into Sunderland from the A19/A1018.
Note: until 2008, the road through Ryhope was numbered A1018 and so that is what many maps will show. However, the A1018 now runs to the east of the village.
