BWAG was formed by six residents in 2005 to restore and preserve 600 acres of ancient woodland which was being destroyed by fly tipping and the illegal use of off-road vehicles.

On our 1st fly tipping clearance day 60 volunteers removed over 100 tonnes of rubbish -including an Abbey National ATM!

The group now has nearly 300 members and raised just over £70,000.  This has been used to restore footpaths and erect fencing to deter illegal use.  The woodland is now litter free and looks cared for.  It is being enjoyed by an increasing number of walkers and horse riders and hopefully, over time, wildlife will flourish here once again.
