We are a Multi-Agency Group dedicated to cleaning up the Salisbury area. We have sucessfully carried out a Community Clean Up day in Bishopdown Farm, Salisbury on Saturday 16th August 2008. We had in excess of 70 residents of Bishopdown Farm taking part. Both adults and children had a great day and to cap it all, the area now looks so much better.  Our hope and belief is that an area clear of litter and rubbish will go some way to promoting a sense of pride within the neighbourhood and enhancing community spirit. The group comprises: Sanctuary Shaftesbury, Salisbury District Council, South Wiltshire Community Safety Partnership, the Bishopdown Farm Residents Association, the Police, local schools, and of course, residents and children from the local area. We also had the support of CB Skips who have provided the skips for the day and In-Excess who have provided us with litter pickers and hi-vis jackets.  We provided all further necessary equipment and clothing. For those yearning for a little more adventure, the Police riot van was there for the kids to explore. Each young person who took part on the day  received a goodie bag and will receive a certificate for good citizenship. We hope to have a presentation of the certifictes at the local school for the children. Every agency supported and funded the initiative to encourage partnership working and highlight the importance of operating as a unified community.
